Pediatric Eye Care

Did You Know?

80% of all learning is visual, which means that if your child is having difficulty seeing clearly, it can significantly affect educational success, athletic ability, and even social interaction.

Pediatric Eye Care Q&A

Eye exams for children are very important to ensure your child’s eyes are healthy and have no vision problems that could interfere with development, school performance, and potentially affect your child’s safety.
Every child deserves to see the world clearly. To ensure that your child has the visual resources they need to grow and develop normally, our doctors recommend your child’s eyes should be examined at certain stages of their development:

•12 months of age.
•Age 3.
•Before starting Kindergarten (Age 5/6).

Our doctors then recommend a yearly exam to keep a close eye on any visual and eye health changes for your child.
Vision screenings provided by a pediatrician or family practice doctor are helpful in gauging your child’s vision, but is not a substitute for a full comprehensive eye exam performed by our eye doctors.

Our team will create a relaxed and inviting environment for your child, so they can enjoy their experience just as much as an adult. For children, our doctors will perform a variety of tests to ensure your child has clear, comfortable vision and healthy eyes. We assess and evaluate:

✔ Visual Acuity
✔ Color Vision
✔ Eye Teaming Skills
✔ Depth Perception
✔ Eye Movement Skills
✔ Prescription Assessment
✔ Near Focusing Ability
✔ Eye Health Evaluation
